Similar story for releasing such a game on PC at all. I always have mixed feelings about criticizing decisions like that too heavily because on the one hand I don't want every game to use UE, but on the other UE is actually really good. If their goal in using their own engine was just to optimize the consoles heavily, that would be all that they needed to scale and any extra effort would be wasted effort. Probably a console-first design of the engine they're using, where Low only needed to be Low enough to dynamically scale things such that they hit the target 30FPS on the consoles.

I know it's on game pass, but even then that's really low.įrom a consumer perspective, there's really no wonder why live services have just become so popular compared to SP "new gen" games, when they are free or cheap, run so much more smoothly on a variety of hardware and IMO art style is more important than illumination or photo realism which make a lot of those games just as visually appealing. I would be very interested in seeing their financial performances on those games (if available), because despite the huge hype behind Requiem, twitch numbers are pretty low for release (40K), and steam numbers are abysmal: 5K all-time peak, not even in the top 150.

Related Reddits:īut who's going to buy those games though when the market for the required hardware to run them is so limited ? And it's not only a PC problem, xsx/ps5 console users have been told they can finally upgrade their TVs to 120Hz, they have tasted how good it feels to plays 60+ fps, but now they are supposed to get back to 30 FPS? I don't see it happening IMO. The 10% rule is enforced on /r/hardware repeat offenders and/or your website or channel may be banned.
